In gearing up for a campaign or establishing a strong major gifts program, it
is imperative that nonprofits have a comprehensive prospect management
system in place. JPR can help your organization design and implement
thorough, well-developed prospect tracking, prospect identification and
database reporting systems.
The database should be set up to record valuable prospect data with standard
coding and reporting practices, but with enough flexibility to make needed
adjustments for new situations and requirements.
Don’t let the information entered in your donor database gather dust! Use and
analyze this data, with numerous possible custom reports. Examples include:
assessing your campaign's prospects at each moves management stage or target
ask amount (great for gift pyramid analysis), listing a solicitor's assignments with
accompanying data on each prospect, reporting newly identified prospects with
actions plans for each, etc.
A systematic, in-house prospect identification system can be designed and
implemented so the best prospects are identified consistently in preparation for and
over the course of the campaign, major gifts, or other program. This includes steps
like electronic screening, peer screening, data mining, qualification, and prospect
research.
